Square spray nozzles have a pyramid full surface spray pattern.

The square spray nozzle has a water drop diameter of relatively small size and the spray is spread over a wide area. It is suited to multiple nozzle arrangement. Since the arrangement is easier than the full cone nozzles, these nozzles are particularly used in cooling of steel materials, secondary cooliing in continuous casting process and washing. The spray angle is calculated from the length between opposite 2 sides. The structure is similar to that of full cone nozzles. There are three piece and two piece nozzles. The three piece type can be disassembled easily without scratching the nozzle body if clogged. The standard core is of multi groove spiral type, while two blade core is used where clogging is expected.
